There are a couple of things I really love doing. One of them is obviously travel. One of the others is photography. Thankfully for me both of those two things seem to work really well together. I’ve had a variety of cameras over the years starting out with an old film point and shoot camera to my current gear which I tend to lug with me when I travel.
I generally end up taking hundreds, if not thousands of photo’s every trip, depending on how long the journey is which I guess is one of the benefits of digital photography. Some of the images are just plain bad, some ok, others good and sometimes I have one of those ‘did I really take that..’ moments.
Given I have some time on my hands and obviously the interest I enrolled in a Travel Photography course to try and get better at something that I really do love doing. I figure it certainly can not hurt! Thus the new category on my site Photography Moments (under Moments in Between), if your interested some more photography related ‘stuff’ will be appearing there.
Of course when I travel a new gallery for that particular trip will still be posted in the Media Gallery – Images section.
For anyone who may be interested the gear I’m using at the moment, although it may not all go with me on every adventure, it is:
- Canon 6D
- Canon zoom lens EF 24-70mm 1:4L IS USM
- Canon zoom lens EF 70-300mm 1:4-4.6L IS USM
- Tamron zoom lens 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3
- Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM
Of course there are the other associated things like the Joby Ultrafit sling strap, spare batteries (obviously), a tripod, memory cards, different camera bags depending on how much and what gear I have on me….
So this is a new adventure of sorts even if it does involve doing something I’ve always done!
