There were times I wondered if this trip was actually going to happen but before I knew it really here I am sitting at the International Airport waiting for the first of two flights that will see us at Xian tomorrow afternoon. The ladies have just shown up at the gate, an indication that boarding time ally isn’t that far off.
Gear wise this is probably the lightest I’ve ever packed with my pack weighing in at 10.7kg. Of course by the time I add my camera and other gear that would undoubtedly put the weight up a few more kilo’s.
I was going to write a piece on the gear I’m travelling with but it will probably be better to write it at the end since I really do not know how it’s all going to go. I’ve gone with a small 30L backpack and my sister has decided on a suitcase with wheels so I guess we will see how this all works.
I’m not sure if this post is really going to work but I figured I’d try the remote posting facility while I was still in a country where I can check if it works. I know from past experience that China blocks my website so I’m hoping that this method might get around it. Still there will probably not be too many photo’s until we get to Mongolia at some point after 8th May.
Edit: of course it does help if one does not accidentally hit send before one is finished.
