It was sad really it was our last day in New York. Our last day with Lil and Es with only a few more days of holidays left and work beckoning just over the horizon. It took a little bit to get moving after the night at the theatre and first thing we had to do was make sure we were packed and ready to go. Once that was done we wandered into Manhattan once more meeting up with Es.
Journal
I will not bother breaking the last few days down. Lets just say we had fun running around being big kids in Disneyland for a couple of days and one day at Universal Studios. We even had a view of Disneyland from our hotel room which was nice and of course the hotel was nice too. Being the last few nights we though that was a given.
Finally its done. The Trails has a whole new look of its very own and some new functionality as well.
BKDesign handled the Template and Coding for me and did an amazing job. I’ve always wanted a design that was mine from the very first moment that I set up this site so was never completely happy with my mangled efforts of creating the templates myself, imagine me shuddering right now, or the free templates available since every Tom, John and Jane on the web not so surprisingly has the same templates. He also handled the coding for the site and fixed up a lot of things for me, including the mapping function, video page and gallery. While I’ve had those things for awhile they were not working all that well particularly the map thing!
We’re struggling. Apparently.
Ok so she is a kiwi but my hat goes off to her. She has 8 kids.
Yes you read that right. Eight kids.
Now I find this truly amazing. Not only is she intending to travel around the world she intends to take said 8 kids, 1 husband and 1 grandfather with her on the journey. Can you imagine the sheer willpower you would need to make that dream come true? Most of us have enough trouble saving and planning for ourselves let alone a hoard!
Now I’ve had a lot of questions about how I save for my trails in the world. Inevitably they then come with excuses. Now the ones I can not argue with are the ‘oh but you’re single’, or ‘you do not have/want kids’.

She’s inspirational and I certainly intend to follow her travels, and that of her hoard!
Ok so I know its taken me close to a year to get my act together and get this done but the video’s from the trip to Thailand in 2007 are finally up. Both in the associated journal pages and the video page. The videos appearing on the main journal page is one of the new design features of the site. I thought I’d best explain that since that is why some of the video’s might have some strange titles. They are the titles of the actual journal entries they are associated with.
