So the trip this year is to Egypt. I am really looking forward to the trip. The airfares are booked and paid for and I fly out of the country on Thursday 7 May 2009 to Dubai. We intend to spend a couple of nights in Dubai then on to Cairo where we are meeting up with some others

Things are surprisingly organised for me this time round and the plans are coming together. There is 7 of us with a possibility of another two joining us, hopefully we’ll have the numbers of the group sorted out in the next week or so.
So the clock is still counting down slowly but surely. Time seems to be playing its own little jig, sometimes it seems to go past at a rapid rate. Particularly when there are things you need to do. Have you ever noticed that time always seems to run out when there are things you need to do?
Then there are other days that seem to never end. Its almost like someone hit the pause button or the ‘frame by frame’ slow button on the world and you can not find the remote.
Its morning and I’m sitting on the bottom sleeper bed on the night train between Cairo to Aswan. Hopefully by this time we are closer to Aswan than we are to Cairo even though we seem to have spent quite a bit of the time stationary. I have a little catching up to do since I’ve been a little slack. Its amazing how much harder it is to keep up with this when you are travelling with a bunch of people. One seems to have a lot less ‘down’ time.
And later that same day…
The group split on arrival in Aswan just after 11am. Half the group used the opportunity to walk to the Keylany Hotel the other half of us decided to take a cab. Three cabs later and a spot of haggling with the grand price of 5 Egyptian Pounds we found ourselves in a cab heading for the hotel.
